Rafael dos Anjos, who is the former lightweight champion of UFC, is tested positive for the COVID-19 test. Therefore, he will be no longer available to fight against Islam Makhachev at the upcoming UFC 254 on November 24 this year.

The ex-champion wrote that statement after relocating from Brazil to the Nova Uniao team. The scheduled bout was the final bout with his running contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
This is approximately only two more weeks left for the October event of UFC but the opponent of Islam Makhachev is still uncertain. UFC hade to take any action about this bout to fill the vacant opponent of Makhachev. Neither the UFC nor Makhachev makes a statement or comment regarding this matter yet.
Nowadays, Brazil is the hotspot for the pandemic. There are over five million cases which include 148000 deaths (approx.) in the world.
Rafael dos Anjos initially wanted a rematch with Pettis or Thompson or even Ponzinibbio. But he was scheduled to fight against Makhachev who is now the training partner of Khabib and on a six-winning streak in a row. He was the training partner of Anjos’ former foe too.
At a later time, Islam Makhachev wants a new fight opponent Michael Chandler to fight with him rather than dropout in UFC 254. The UFC 254 is a headline with the fight between Justhin Gaethje and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
